Healthy meals for children vary according to the nutrients available in your kitchen. However, you should know that you can introduce certain foods to your baby in every stage of development. Food recipes for your 6-months old:

  • Mashed banana and orange:

Mash half a banana using a fork or a blender, and then add little orange juice.

  • Mashed avocado and orange:

Mash half an avocado using a fork or a blender, and then add little orange juice and a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.

  • Boiled vegetables:

Boil a small portion of fresh vegetables available in your fridge (carrots, potatoes, broccoli, peas, zucchini, pumpkin, tomato .. etc), then drain them well and add some cumin, mash them in a blender.

Food recipes for your 7-months old:

  • Mashed fruit with yogurt:

Put half a cup of yogurt in the blender, add half a cup of any fruit you have (banana, blueberry, strawberry, apricot … etc), with a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.

  • Rice with milk & pears:

Mix in a pot quarter cup of short grain rice with a cup of liquid baby milk formula, add a small peeled and grated pear. Boil the mixture then turn down the heat, keep stirring from time to time till the mixture becomes creamy. Add some water if needed.

Food recipe for your 8-months old:

  • Mashed vegetables:

One of the healthiest dishes for babies is mashed vegetables, because it is rich in nutrients. To prepare one, boil one peeled and diced sweet potato. Once it boils, add one cup of broccoli and half a cup of zucchini. Boil them for five minutes, then mash them and feed your baby.

Food recipe for your 9-months old:

  • Oatmeal with dates and bananas:

Put in a pot half a cup of liquid baby milk formula with quarter cup of oatmeal, half a banana and two tablespoons of grated dates. Cover the pot, and boil it, turn down the heat and wait for five minutes while stirring the mixture from time to time until it becomes creamy. Add more water if needed.

Signs of baby milk shortage:

Knowing the signs of milk shortage of your baby helps you assessing your baby’s health, and insuring the little one is taking enough milk while introducing solid food to the diet. These signs include:

  • Your baby feels hungry soon after being fed.
  • Diaper remains dry for a long time.
  • Your baby loses weight or doesn’t gain extra weight.
  • Bad mood.
