Lead Clinician (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services)

Dr Khaled Kadry is a senior consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and Lead Clinician for the CAMHS services at Maudsley Health, Abu Dhabi.

Dr Kadry completed his general psychiatry training and further specialist child and adolescent psychiatry training at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in London. Following training, Dr Kadry worked as a consultant within South London and the Maudsley, before moving to Abu Dhabi in 2015.

Dr Kadry worked alongside other senior clinical opinion leaders and academics as part of The National and Specialist services at the Maudsley Hospital in the UK. These services are of world renown and cater for complex and acutely unwell young people. He brings his wealth of clinical experience across the full range of child and adolescent mental health practice to Maudsley Health’s services in Abu Dhabi.

Dr Kadry was one of the first senior clinicians in the UK to be awarded the prestigious Darzi fellowship. This position afforded him the opportunity to work with The Department of Health in shaping key policy and legislation within mental health.

Having lived and worked both in the Middle East and the UK, Dr Kadry has a keen interest and has published in the area of transcultural psychiatry. He uses a holistic and integrated approach that combines biological, psychological and social perspectives of care taking into account individual, family and cultural differences. He integrates his expertise in transcultural psychiatry with highly specialist clinical training and research experience to bring treatment innovations to the service in Abu Dhabi. He is passionate about bringing the best of his international expertise, to the CAMHS services at Maudsley Health Abu Dhabi. Dr Kadry’s research and specialist training experiences ensure that the quality of service that the Maudsley Hospital is renowned for delivering is available for the first time in Abu Dhabi.
