Your body temperature during pregnancy
As early as about 6 weeks after your last period the amount of blood flowing around your newly pregnant body had increased.
Studies have shown that before a woman is pregnant she will have about 100 ml of blood per minute flowing through the uterine artery. This increases to an amazing 120 ml per minute in early pregnancy and close to delivery it will increase to about 350 ml per minute!
This important extra blood flow increases metabolism overall body temperature.
This is why a pregnant woman feels warmer than usual and may sweat more. It is also the reason many women have the famous ‘pregnancy glow’.
